A Few Thoughts

from the Sermon on the Mount Series….

Each week, during our Sermon on the Mount series, Father Al has been giving us a follow-up suggestion for the week. Its an opportunity to put into practice in daily life what we are learning each Sunday.

Here is his note for this week:

Same two minutes. Same bedtime practice. One question:
Who was my audience today?
Not to beat ourselves up if the answer’s uncomfortable. Just notice. Pay attention to the moments when we were genuinely living for the Father — and the moments when we were playing to the crowd. We all have both.
Maybe meet with a friend about this and together, ask the Holy Spirit to make y’all more aware of your audience, and pray for one another to welcome the kindness of an audience of One — the Father who already knows y’all, loves y’all, and is joyfully forming y’all.
That’s our practice. That’s our halach. That’s the Kingdom of Heaven breaking in — quietly, in secret — seen by our loving Father and slowly changing everything.
Amen
